Gilbert Pena - Republican Speaks: TAYLOR: How important is good leadership during times of crisis? PENA: Good leadership is of great importance in times of crisis. Just look at how the governor of Texas handled things after hurricane Ike, and how the governor of Louisiana handled the same crisis after hurricane Katrina. TAYLOR: Do you consider yourself to be a leader? If so, in what way? PENA: Yes! As senator for District 6, I will place the interest of the people before my own. TAYLOR: Other than yourself, who is the most effective leader you know alive today? PENA: Since I am a Texan, I would have to say Governor Rick Perry just because of the way he handled the hurricane Ike problem. TAYLOR: Why should Harris County-area voters choose you on Tuesday, November 4th? PENA: As I have block walk some of District 6, the voters have asked me what I will do for them. My response has been, what has the incumbent done for you? I have voted for the incumbent in the past, on his promises that He would fight to lower taxes, that He would be more active in our communities; And I got nothing for my vote. The incumbent is only active in our communities on election year. So, I urge voters to give me the opportunity to make a difference. |
