Charles L. Earley - Libertarian Speaks: TAYLOR: How important is good leadership during times of crisis? EARLEY: Good leadership is extremely important in times of crisis. We see many of our leaders fail because they are indebted to special interests rather than the citizens of the State of Texas. They frequently make decisions that make matters worse. TAYLOR: Do you consider yourself to be a leader? If so, in what way? EARLEY: Yes, I consider myself a leader. I am not afraid to take an unpopular stand and challenge the current leaders when they do not make good choices. TAYLOR: Other than yourself, who is the most effective leader you know alive today? EARLEY: Warren Buffet. Although he has managed to become the wealthiest man in world, he lives a frugal life and gives back to the community. Both Obama and McCain have suggested that he would considered for Secretary of the Treasury. TAYLOR: Why should Harris County-area voters choose you on Tuesday, November 4th? EARLEY: I am not a career politician and I do not plan to spend the rest of my life as a politician. I believe that the average people of the State of Texas need a voice and career politicians do not provide us with that voice. I am not accepting campaign contributions, so I am not indebted to any special interest group. |
