"All About Bipartisanship" - Comments

Joe Agris - Republican Speaks:

TAYLOR: How important is good leadership during times of crisis? DR. AGRIS: Good Leadership is important at all times and more so during a crisis situation. Not only good leadership, but a strong, take-charge attitude is necessary.

TAYLOR: Do you consider yourself to be a leader? If so, in what way? DR. AGRIS: I have been a leader all my life in everything I have done. I am not only a good leade, but I possess the attributes of intelligence, common sense, and a forceful, strong take-charge attitude.

TAYLOR: Other than yourself, who is the most effective leader you know alive today? DR. AGRIS: There are many effective leaders alive today around the world. Through my medical mission trips with the late Mr. Marvin Zindler, and now with The Agris Zindler Childrens Fund I have visited 36 countries. I have met many "Leaders". They represent all areas of society, political, religious, business, and medical etc.

TAYLOR: Why should Harris County-area voters choose you on Tuesday, November 4th? DR. AGRIS: Harris County voters should vote for me on Nov 4th because the present system is broken and and fresh, new ideas are needed. Who do you trust more? Your Doctor, or the politicians who've lied to you repeatedly, promised you the moon and stars to get richer and deliver nothing.

Ellen Cohen (i) - Democrat Speaks:

TAYLOR: How important is good leadership during times of crisis? REP. COHEN: Good leadership works if it is consistent. Leaders must demonstrate the same qualities during calm times as well as crises. Knowing that your leader can be counted on for steady and honest direction gives one a sense of confidence.

TAYLOR: Do you consider yourself to be a leader? If so, in what way? REP. COHEN: I believe myself to be a visionary person who can excite people about issues that will help them advance their best interests and reach their highest potential. It has also been my experience that leaders are not born but made and that almost anyone has the capability to take on a leadership role depending on the circumstances.

TAYLOR: Other than yourself, who is the most effective leader you know alive today? REP. COHEN: There are many people I admire from a far as leaders but if the key words are "you know" then I would clearly say Bill White. He has shown leadership as "head cheerleader" for our great city and as "chief strategist" and calm leader during the difficult times we have recently experienced.

TAYLOR: Why should Harris County-area voters choose you on Tuesday, November 4th? REP. COHEN: I believe that I have demonstrated leadership during my first session in the House in the area of health care and education. I authored a bill that will provide $25 million dollars for sexual assault survivors and education programs around the state by attaching a fee to adult entertainment venues. During my 18 years at the Houston Area Women's Center, I led a staff of 120 people and increased revenue from $1 million to over $6 million. I can be counted on to keep my word and work for the constituents in my district.
