Dale Henry (Candidate for Railroad Commissioner) Talks to Houston Business Connections: Tells Publisher Aubrey R. Taylor why Harris County voters should choose him in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election

HENRY: "I am a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. I served two years of active duty in the US Air Force and received an honorable discharge as a First Lieutenant. I then served 14 years in the Air Force Reserve.

I had a long career with Dow Chemical in the field working in the cementing and acidizing divisions and in their Research and Development groups working with materials and chemicals to enhance the productivity of oil and gas wells. I applied and received two patents during this time.

After working for Dowell Schlumberger and Gearhart Owen stateside and worldwide, in the field, training, sales and management, I returned home to Texas from the Dowell Schlumberger home offices in Paris, France, and formed my own company and was an independent oil field contractor.

I was active in forming the Fox Crossing Water District of Mills County and served as president for fourteen years. I was also elected as the County Commissioner of Mills County, serving one term before devoting my full time efforts as a member of Senate Bill I Region "K" Lower Colorado River Regional Water Planning Group to plan for quality and quantity water for the present and future generations of Texans.

I have the background and experience to be your Railroad Commissioner. I would be honored to have the opportunity to use this experience for all Texans.

While visiting Democrats on the South Plains, a Texas Tech student said to me: "Mr. Henry, instead of sending all these 'show ponies' to Austin, I think we need to send a 'WORK HORSE,' YOU!" I am here to be your "work horse" and serve the citizens of Texas."

Tabitha Serrano (Candidate for Railroad Commissioner) Talks to Houston Business Connections: Tells Publisher Aubrey R. Taylor why Harris County voters should choose her in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election

SERRANO: "The Texas Railroad Commission is supposed to preserve and prevent waste of Texas' natural resources, primarily oil and gas, but also such minerals as coal and uranium. As Texas Railroad Commissioner, I will work to ensure that the commission stays out of the pockets of the energy industry, that preservation controls are tightened, the research on alternative fuels is extended beyond propane, and that the general public begins to fully comprehend what it is the railroad commission actually does. Heck! I'm not actually sure what a Railroad Commissioner actually does, so the first thing I intend to do is figure that out and then get the darn thing renamed to something that makes sense or maybe do away with it entirely. Keep in mind, folks, that I passed Oil & Gas Law."
