Ahmad Hassan (Candidate for U.S. Congress Distict 18) Talks to Houston Business Connections: Tells Publisher Aubrey R. Taylor why Harris County voters should choose him in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election

HASSAN: "I am 53 years old and was born in Sohag, Egypt 450 miles south of Cairo; home of the Ancient Pyramids and Great Sphinx. I am prepared to help the country I love to bridge gaps to the Middle East. It's time out for cheap talk. I believe the time for change has come for Congressional District 18. My desire is to usher in that change I'm speaking about.

I promise to represent the entire district with honesty, dignity, and sincerity knowing that the position of U.S. Representative is one for the people working for you!

I understand the importance of commitment and I aim to dedicate myself to you just as I have dedicated myself to my wife and family for over 26 years. I have three wonderful children all in their twenties of whom I am very proud. My wife is an R.N. as well as a law school graduate with a degree in management; she comes from a family that has fought in every war for the United States since the birth of our nation.

I believe my education and experience has prepared me for this moment. I am a Law School Graduate with a J.D. (Juris Doctorate) Degree and a Bachelors Degree in Management. I also graduated from Industrial Technical College in Cairo, Egypt and I'm a licensed real-estate broker and Mortgage broker as well.

I've served as a civilian at a U.S. Air Force Base. My Experience as a negotiator and mediator, both internationally and locally will also aid our District should you choose to elect me.

My vast experience is unmatched by my opponents in this race. I have worked in the Public Affairs Office of the Ministry of Defense in Kuwait. I've Owned and operated a professional soccer team; served as the Director of Food and Nutrition at a Medical Center; Owned and Operated retail stores and restaurants. Furthermore, I was nominated twice for Sedgwick County Commissioners Court in Kansas.

I am proud to be a member of the NAACP, National Association of Realtors (NAR), and The Houston Association of Realtors (HAR)."

I will be a Strong Voice for ALL the People!

Patrick Warren (Candidate for U.S. Congress Distict 18) Talks to Houston Business Connections: Tells Publisher Aubrey R. Taylor why Harris County voters should choose him in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election

WARREN: "I am a 26 year old Navy veteran enrolled at the University of Houston. If you vote for me, you will be voting for honesty and decency. This election, the other candidates will make beautiful speeches and attempt to wow you with words, but not me.

There are a few big issues this election year, namely immigration and the continuing struggle for normalcy in Iraq. I'm not afraid to give a solid position on both of these isssues. For immigration, we need to build a multi-layered fence and beef up border security, and we need to get tough on businesses that hire illegal immigrants. In the case of Iraq, we need to set a pull-out date. I propose we bring home all troops from Iraq by 2008.

Thank you for considering me this election year."
