Gary Binderim (Candidate for U.S. Congress District 2) Talks to Houston Business Connections: Tells Publisher Aubrey R. Taylor why Harris County area voters should choose him in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election BINDERIM: "I offer the voters a real alternative to 'business as usual' in Washington, DC. I support tax reform that benefits the working and middle class. I support ensuring the security of our nation, especially by securing our ports of entry and major business centers, such as Houston. I would support legislation that ensures a healthy America that provides health services for our children, elderly, low-income and disabled individuals. I will work to ensure the energy security of our nation by supporting investment in the expansion of our energy infrastructure toward creating alternative fuel sources, which will create jobs in our energy-rich region. I support proposals that would be of benefit to the business community. I support the creation of small business health plans that would benefit business owners and their employees, while ensuring that these businesses are not driven to bankruptcy by high costs. I support programs that would invest in current and new businesses in emerging markets that would create jobs for Americans. Finally, I support doing away with the Social Security tax cap, while reducing the tax itself. Ensuring the future of businesses takes a multi-prong approach that unburdens and benefits businesses and consumers. Neither can succeed without the other. Unlike my opponent, I know this campaign is about much more than a single issue. We need a representative that will not run away from our nation's challenges, and I am that representative. I vow to represent the people first." |
Justo Perez (Candidate for U.S. Congresss District 2) Talks to Houston Business Connections: Tells Publisher Aubrey R. Taylor why Harris County voters should choose him in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election JUSTO PEREZ: "Less than a political rookie, absolutely no political experience, and no campaign manager (don't need someone telling me what to say or how to act). Is it possible? YES. A vote for me is actually a vote against the two party system; it's a vote against too much government, taxation, hand-outs, etc. A vote for me or any Libertarian, is a VOTE ON PRINCIPLE; it is a vote for a candidate that needs no fanfare, "LIBERTY." We embrace the principles of "life, liberty, and property rights." Our views are simple: you, the individual, have the right to keep what is yours and are responsible for your actions, and you are not "your brother's keeper." You have the right to live as you like, as long as you do not infringe on the rights of others. Coercion has no place among men of Liberty. Freedom to trade, hire, invent, and prosper, without coercing others or being coerced, is your right. These are the basic principles of liberty; a moral code unlike that of collectivism; it is a code of honor among individuals. More government is not the answer, it is the problem. Harris County has many individuals that embrace these principles and do not want yet another representative seeking Federal hand-outs for their State or the Nation. These are the responsible voters of district 2, Texas." |
